Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about what we do and who we treat!

Q. Are your sessions in person or virtual?

A. All sessions are conducted via telemedicine, however, I am based in Albuquerque, NM.

Q. Do you only treat patients who are local to you?

A. Because all sessions are virtual, I can treat patients anywhere in the world!

Q. How old are your patients?

A. Myofunctional therapy requires a commitment to consistent practice and the ability to understand and follow directions for exercises given, therefore, the youngest patients I treat are 5 years old. Many adults have myofunctional disorders from unidentified and untreated childhood issues and can benefit greatly from myofunctional therapy.

Q. What if my child is younger than age 5 and I have concerns about their development or function?

A. Please reach out to me via email to discuss your child's case. I do offer a limited myofunctional therapy program geared towards children ages 2-5, but there may be other providers better suited to care for your child. I can assist in referring you to the appropriate providers if necessary.

Q. Do I need a referral?

A. While a referral can be very helpful, especially for collaborating with other providers for your care, it is not necessary to have a referral. I will conduct a comprehensive examination to determine if myofunctional therapy is right for you.

Q. Can you help me find other providers who can assist with my/my child's care?

A. Absolutely! We can work together to determine your care needs and I am happy to collaborate with all providers throughout the process.

Q. Do you accept insurance?

A. Unfortunately, myofunctional therapy is not covered under any dental insurance plans and medical insurance provides very little, if any coverage. Therefore, I am not in network with any insurance companies, however, I am happy to provide a superbill so that you may submit to your medical insurance company independently for possible reimbursement.
